Two Pigs With One Shot!

"Ed, Thanks so much for including me in your field testing of the new Ashby
broadhead. It's been an honor to play with such a fine product in both the
Ashby head and also the fine arrow shafting, The GrizzlyStik Sitkas.
Performance was everything I'd expected. I originally was looking to shoot a
big grizzled boar but was unable to make it work the first few times out. I
settled on a 100# sow that was feeding along with a sounder of herd pigs.
Once within about 10 yards I dropped the string and watched the dart-like
Sitka streak straight through her. There was no doubt that penetration was
far and above anything ordinary. My 47# Horne Brushbow was more than enough
bow to send the arrow straight through.
Upon blood trailing the pig I found that the blood trail made no sense. I'd
seen the sow fall in sight but as I approached her I found that there was a
blood trail leading away from the area where my pig had fallen. The only
thing I could do was follow it. That's right, I shot two pigs with the same
arrow. About 30 yards from my first pig I found the Sitka shaft and Ashby
head laying in the trail. About another 30 yards up the trail laid my second
hog. I was stunned by the event! I do think I understand penetration on a
professional level now. I do feel that if everyone was getting this kind of
penetration with their set-up there would be a lot less woundings. Thanks
again for the opportunity to "see the light". I know what I'll be reaching
for the next time I've got some serious hunting to do. I'll be grabbing my
GrizzlyStiks and Ashby heads. You just can't put a price on proper
performance."
Thanks again, Curtis Kellar, President-7th Age Bowhunting,LLC
From: Brent Scott Subject: GrizzlyStiks 165 grains heavier, same point of impact!
Ok, here is what I found. I was shooting 280 grain Easton ACC arrows with 100 grain tip. Finished arrow is 380. 25 ¾ inch arrows. 70 lbs
At first, I shot the bare shaft Griz Stik at 20 yards and way left. Disappointed but started to read where typical of unfinished arrow. I had already cut my shaft to fit my overdraw so shortening arrow at that point wasn’t an option! I started adding weight and it got better to a point. I lowered my knock a bit to correct flight, then fletched with 2” Blazers. Out of the box, the fletched Griz Stiks shot right on the money vertically, but about 6” high. I started adding weight and at settled on the 145 point that flew exactly like my ACC’s at a distance of 35 yards.
So, the Griz stik starts out at 400 grains and with a 145 tip, puts finished arrow weight at 545. Compare that to my ACC’s with a finished weight of 380 using the 100grain tip and you have an arrow that weighs 165 grains MORE. Could it be possible that these Griz Stiks can fly at my current pin settings and be 165 grains heavier??????? Headed on a Caribou hunt soon and that sounds appealing!!!
I was shooting the Maasai Broadheads. The flew excellent (100gr) in my ACC’s with no adjustment.
They flew good in the Griz Stik’s too at 25 yards, and a little high and left at 35 yards. Not sure why? And noticed the broad head flight to be ‘louder’ than I remember compared to Griz Stik with field point or old broadheads.
I need to get the 145gr Maasai I believe to see how they fly since I like the 145 gr field tip

From: "Bonehead" Subject: Maasai Broadheads are Sharp, Be Careful!
"Where is my bone head award?! I field tested the Maasai 100 grain on human
flesh. After shooting field points at my Glenndale deer target for about 15
minutes. I shot my Maasai at my block target and removed it in the same
manner I remove my field points!!!!!! I pulled it threw my hand and back of
the blade cut me to the bone! 6 stitches on my pinky finger. Never even felt
it! Just knew it was cut bad. I should be good to go by the hunt!
Probably should have kept this to myself but knew you would get a kick out
of it!
There will not be a follow-up test!!!!!!!"
