J-B Weld

J-B Weld, a steel/epoxy resin, is the strongest adhesive available for gluing point inserts into carbon and aluminum arrow shafts.

We first learned about J-B Weld by reading Dr. Ashby’s reports on arrow penetration.

Dr. Ashby found J-B Weld to be the strongest point insert adhesive he tested.

If the adhesive that holds the point insert in a shaft fails, the point insert can be driven into the shaft, splitting and fracturing it.

When the arrow shaft fails, penetration stops.

J-B Weld has a tested tensile strength of 3960 psi and adhesion strength of 1800 psi and is the recommended adhesive for the GrizzlyStik point inserts.
